Selling an antique folding school row desk with cast iron legs ($50) plus a large oil on canvas painting signed by "Antonio" ($50).
The antique school desk is a early 1900's row desk meaning the seat is in front of the desk because the seat would be for a person to sit on who is using the surface of another desk in front of them. The seat folds up and the legs are cast iron. The legs look to have been repainted in black. The wood and metal are all original. It is marked A.S. Co. for American Seating Company.
The art painting is a large oil painting on canvas with a large frame that measures 46" x 34". The signature "Antonio" probably refers to Antonio Di Vicarro. I have read that Antonio Di Viccaro was born in 1935 in Castelforte, Itlay. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts and held his first solo exhibition at the age of 23 at the Circolo Artistico in Arezzo, Italy. He held also exhibitions in the United States, in Los Angeles, Boston, Chicago, New Orleans, Washington, Las Vegas, San Francisco and New York. He is one of the few artists to use the "spatula" technique to apply the oils.
$50 cash for the school desk and $50 for the painting. I can bring them outside the house so you can view them. NW Gainesville location near Fresh Market. Contact Dean. Thanks!
