Early 60s Gibson Skylark 1960/61 (AKA Champ Killer). The Tolex covering is original but was painted black at some point The owner previous to me removed as much of the paint as possible and then redyed it. The color match is excellent. I have had the amp for 12 plus years and it still looks good. It appears something was mounted to one of the back panels in the past as there are three holes in one panel. The Gibson logo and the handle are original. The 8 inch speaker is original. Label is missing but production code indicates it is a Jensen produced October 1959. Both transformers are original. Some caps have been replaced. The tubes are vintage USA and top grade. May or may not be original. Rectifier tube is a RCA 5y3gt, date code 5735(35th week 1957). Preamp tube is RCA 12AX7. Power tube is a military grade Sylvania JAN6V6gt (JAN =Joint army navy). Still has 2 prong cord. Amp functions and sounds as it should with no crazy rattling or buzzing. There is a little static when turning the volume knob. The amp is quiet with no hum until the volume gets to around 6. The price is firm.
